Boys’ Soft Tennis Club 5/31 (Sat) Kanto Tournament Team Competition Results Report

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation with the activities of the boys’ soft tennis club.

We participated in the Kanto Tournament held at the Kose Sports Park Tennis Court in Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture from Friday, May 30th to Sunday, June 1st.

Individual matches (4 pairs) ○Machida (2nd year: Matsuyama), Ishii (3rd year: Niiza Daisan) ○Noda (3rd year: Terao), Murakami (2nd year: Niiza Daisan) ○Kobayashi (2nd year: Sayama Chuo), Suda (2nd year: Kitamoto Nishi) ○Nakamoto (2nd year: Tsurugashima), Aburiri (2nd year: Muneoka)

Team matches Machida (2nd year: Matsuyama), Ishii (3rd year: Niiza Daisan), Noda (3rd year: Terao), Murakami (2nd year: Niiza Daisan); Matsumura (3rd year: Ogawa Higashi), Katayama (3rd year: Yoshimi), Kobayashi (2nd year: Sayama Chuo), Aburiri (2nd year: Terao)

In the individual match, we took on a more challenging opponent. Although we were not satisfied with the results, we were able to learn some things to help us win the upcoming national tournament qualifiers.

In addition, the weather on the day of the team match was heavy rain. Due to the rain, we were unable to play as we wanted and were forced to struggle. We fought with all our might, believing in what we had been working on and our teammates who supported us.

Quarterfinal Nodai-ni (Gunma) 2-1 Yamamurakokusai

However, due to the tension of being on the big stage of the Kanto tournament, we were unable to make the important points and balls, and we came in fifth place, which was a disappointing result that made us realize the high level of the top players in the Kanto tournament.

We will do our best to use this experience to our advantage in the future.
