Welcome to Yamamura Kokusai
Yamamura Kokusai is an energetic high school drawing students from all over the region to participate in our abundant academic, social, cultural and sporting activities. We put students and carers first, prividing a unique warm and individual care. While our sports teams go from strength to strength, our culture clubs draw attention from all around. Club collaborations in culture festivals and many other school events highlight the great atmosphere and the spirit to endeavor of our students and staff, and if you can’t come in person, please search out our competition and television appearances. We also offer strong opportunities to learn English, with licenced full time teachers (mostly from the UK and US) teaching every class twice a week, English travel study trips in Japan and abroad throughout the year, on campus English Camp for everyone in their first and second years, and year round after school EIKEN support and conversation classes. Yamamura Kokusai endeavours to mix the old with the new, the traditional Japanese with the Global, to provide our students with the richness of choices, experience and possibility to allow every unique individual to flourish and advance as strong, capable, worldly wise young adults ready to participate in a changing world.

- Calligraphy – prefecture winners
- Fashion design – university awards
- Food and nutrition – with own allotment and dedicated cooking room
- Iaido (samurai sword style) (boys and girls)
- Kendo – regional quarter-finals (boys and girls)
- Illustration – selected and winners of prefectural contests
- Nursery and kindergarten education – preparing future teachers
- Soccer – prefecture quarter-finals
- Yosakoi dance club – performing this blend of old and new
