Won the Excellence Award for the fifth consecutive year at the “2024 Saitama Prefectural High School Book Review Drawing Competition”

“Book Review Drawings” are included as an assignment for first-year art classes in the second semester, and this year eight works from the 91 submitted by 91 art students were entered into the Book Review Drawing Competition.

One Grand Prize, three Excellence Prizes, and eight Merit Prizes were selected from the 112 submitted works, with “Flowers for Algernon” (Daniel Keyes) by a first-year student, winning the Merit Prize. The student not only worked during art class, but also participated in the winter art course over the New Year period to create her work, which led to her receiving this award. This work is completed using only a pencil, but it seems that it could have been even better if there had been a little more time to allow for partial coloring.
